Sarasota offers its visitors and residents a variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. Or perhaps an evening enjoying a concert at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center then strolling downtown to one of the many fine restaurants to top off your night is more your style. The Sarasota Opera House and the Apolo Repertory Theater continuously delight audiences with spectacular performances. World renowned St. Armands Circle is just over the Ringling Bridge and boasts superb indoor and outdoor dining and shopping venues. There is always something going on! Sept. 2nd 6-9 pm. “Music on Main”. Lakewood Ranch Main Street. Free event. Come and enjoy live music and a great time! Bring a chair. Dogs welcome but must be on leash. No coolers.

Sept. 10th 1-4 pm “A Taste of Downtown Food and Wine Festival”. Enjoy menu tastings from more than 20 downtown restaurants, including beer and wine pairings. The venue is the historic Opera House. Proceeds benefit the Sarasota Youth Opera. Tickets $65 per person in advance. $75 per person day of event.
