Sarasota offers its visitors and residents a variety of recreational and cultural opportunities. Or perhaps an evening enjoying a concert at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center then strolling downtown to one of the many fine restaurants to top off your night is more your style. The Sarasota Opera House and the Asolo Repertory Theater continuously delight audiences with spectacular performances. World renowned St. Armands Circle is just over the Ringling Bridge and boasts superb indoor and outdoor dining and shopping venues. There is always something going on! May 6th 6-9 pm “Live from Downtown-It’s Friday Night!” Main Street at 5 Points Park and Palm Avenue. Live music, street performances, dining venues. Shop, dine and enjoy everything downtown Sarasota has to offer.

May 15th 10 am-2 pm The Ringling. “Community Festival Celebrating the Center for Asian Art”. Included with Museum Admission/Children are Free. Grand Opening of the Center for Asian Art. The day will feature a scavenger hunt, a Japanese drummer performance, martial arts demonstration, family yoga workshop, a kimono presentation, and a live exhibit of silkworms.

May 16th 5-8 pm. The Ringling. “Ringling by the Bay”. Live music by the Lisa Ridings Band, and dancing on the Bayfront. Food and beverage available for purchase. Adm.$10/free for members.
